Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the assassination attempt on Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, claimed by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has issued a strong condemnation regarding the assassination attempt on Somalia’s President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. The attack was executed by the terrorist organization “Al-Shabaab,” which took responsibility for the assault. The statement highlighted Ukraine’s unwavering support for the Somali government’s efforts to enhance peace and security within the Federal Republic of Somalia.

On March 18, near the presidential palace in Mogadishu, an explosion targeted President Mohamud’s motorcade. This recent act of terrorism underscores the ongoing threats posed by Al-Shabaab in the region. Earlier reports from UNN indicated that militants from Al-Shabaab had also shelled a hotel in Somalia, resulting in multiple casualties.
