Officials indicate that Joshua Riibe, a student at St. Cloud State University, may have been the last person to see Konanki. However, he is not currently classified as a suspect in this case, according to law enforcement.
Riibe, aged 22, enrolled at St. Cloud State University in 2023, and is a resident of Rock Rapids, Iowa. His major is in land surveying and mapping sciences. According to Chad Quinn from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Riibe is labeled a person of interest due to his potential last contact with Konanki.
Theresa Riibe, an aunt of Joshua, expressed the family’s emotional distress, stating, “Our family is going through a very difficult time right now, and we’re experiencing a lot of sadness and pain. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this challenging moment together.” Domino police are conducting further interviews in the ongoing investigation, which also involves the FBI.
Authorities report that Konanki went missing during a power outage at her hotel on March 6, which led guests to the beach. Her parents, who arrived in Punta Cana following her disappearance, have requested an expanded investigation. Sudiksha Konanki was part of a group of six university students who traveled to the Dominican Republic on March 3.
