On February 14, following the birth of her son, 37-year-old Achol Deng was rushed to Juba Teaching Hospital due to her newborn showing no signs of life. The infant lacked a heartbeat and did not demonstrate breathing or limb movements, necessitating immediate neonatal care.
Upon examination, Dr. Tai diagnosed the infant with a bacterial infection and respiratory distress syndrome. He promptly administered oxygen and medication, subsequently observing significant improvement in the newborn’s health over the course of his care in the neonatal ward, which proved essential given the child’s earlier dire condition.
Deng expressed profound gratitude, stating, “This Chinese doctor has been treating my baby for 11 days since I was admitted here, and now there is some improvement.
