Northern Vietnam will transition to clearer skies and warmer temperatures beginning Thursday after nearly two weeks of cold, damp weather. From Friday to Monday, the region will experience mostly sunny conditions, with potential highs reaching 31 degrees Celsius in some areas. Although welcomed, residents should anticipate a return of rain around March 4-5 as weather fluctuations persist.

Northern Vietnam is poised to experience improved weather conditions, with clearer skies and warmer temperatures expected to begin on Thursday. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reports that after nearly two weeks of persistent drizzle and humidity, a weakening cold air mass, which has lingered since February 16, will bring about this positive change.

From Friday to Monday, the northern provinces, including Hanoi, are forecasted to enjoy mainly sunny and dry weather, with just occasional morning mist and light drizzle. The temperatures in the capital may reach 28 degrees Celsius, while areas such as Dien Bien and Son La could see highs of 29 to 31 degrees.

This period of sunshine is welcomed by residents who have been enduring prolonged damp conditions, allowing them the opportunity to air out clothes and household items. However, meteorologists caution that another round of rain is predicted for around March 4-5, suggesting that the weather will continue to fluctuate.

Historically, March and April in the region are characterized by bouts of drizzle and high humidity, with averages of 7-10 days of drizzle in March and 4-6 days in April. Although this year is expected to follow normal patterns, residents are advised to remain prepared for varying weather conditions ahead.

In summary, northern Vietnam is set to transition from damp and cold weather to sunnier and warmer conditions starting Thursday, providing relief to residents. The forecast indicates that temperatures will rise and dry conditions will prevail temporarily, although rain is expected to return shortly thereafter. Meteorologists emphasize the importance of preparing for the typical fluctuations associated with the changing seasons.
