Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known as “Killaboi,” has been extradited from Qatar to Nigeria to face murder charges for his girlfriend’s death. The extradition follows his two-year manhunt and collaboration between various law enforcement agencies. The case reflects the commitment to justice and safety within the Nigerian society.

Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known as “Killaboi,” has been extradited from Qatar to Nigeria to face murder charges for the death of his girlfriend, Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. Following an extensive global manhunt, he was apprehended in Doha on April 19, 2025. The investigation began after the family of the victim filed a petition on September 29, 2024, which prompted international cooperation among law enforcement agencies.

The victim, a 21-year-old first-class student at Lead City University in Ibadan, was allegedly murdered on July 13, 2023, at Killaboi’s residence in Lagos. After the crime, he attempted to mislead the investigation by posting a false online video. Following his declaration as wanted on October 13, 2023, an INTERPOL Red Notice was issued for his capture.

Killaboi was previously arrested in Sierra Leone under a false identity on October 20, 2023, but escaped during a prison break. He subsequently traversed various countries, using multiple forged identities before settling in Doha in January 2025 under the alias “Toure Abdoulaye.” His new identity, established with a counterfeit Guinean passport, allowed him to find employment while avoiding detection.

The Nigeria Police Force’s Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, highlighted the role of advanced biometric techniques and international cooperation in confirming Killaboi’s identity. His formal extradition request was subsequently approved by Qatari judicial authorities, facilitating his return to Nigeria to face justice.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised the collaborative efforts of INTERPOL and expressed gratitude to various governmental bodies for their assistance. He reassured the public of the Nigeria Police’s commitment to ensuring justice and the safety of citizens.

The extradition of Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, alias “Killaboi,” marks a significant step in pursuing justice for the murder of Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. His capture follows a two-year international manhunt, underscoring the importance of cooperation among law enforcement agencies. The Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to ensuring the safety of its citizens and addressing violent crimes effectively.
