The brand’s distributor launch, organized by East African Breweries Limited (EABL), took place at the Sankara Hotel in Nairobi, highlighting the company’s commitment to expanding its presence following an initial introduction at the Blankets & Wine festival in late 2024.
The event featured a blue-themed ambiance, with notable attendees including personalities such as Jay Take A Pic, Miano Muchiri, and Ajib Gathoni. Guests adhered to a “shades of blue” dress code that aligned with the brand’s aesthetic, while live entertainment was provided by the Juke Box band, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
Kenya’s drinks market is increasingly embracing premium imported spirits, driven by urban consumers and upscale establishments seeking higher quality products. Alvin Mbugua, General Manager Spirits at EABL, stated, “This launch is a critical move in our strategy to establish Casamigos as premium tequila in Kenya. Casamigos, which translates to “House of Friends,” was established in 2013 by Clooney along with Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman. The brand was acquired by Diageo, a leading spirits company, in 2017.
