The eclipse path will extend from eastern Canada to northern Russia, with potential visibility across much of Europe and certain parts of northeastern North America and northwest Africa. The event will commence at 8:50 GMT and finish at 12:43 GMT. While a total solar eclipse results in the Moon completely blocking the Sun, this event will only achieve a maximum coverage of 90% in some areas, as described by Paris Observatory astronomer Florent Deleflie.
