The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has issued a warning regarding heavy rainfall expected to impact various regions of the country for three consecutive days, commencing on Thursday, March 27, 2025. The TMA’s alert emphasizes that these predicted downpours may lead to flooding in certain residential areas, urging residents to remain vigilant.
On Thursday, heavy rains are anticipated in multiple regions including Mara, Kagera, Geita, Simiyu, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma, Kigoma, Tabora, and Katavi.
Continuing into Friday, March 28, rainfall will persist in regions such as Mara, Geita, Simiyu, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Manyara. Additionally, it will extend to Singida, Dodoma, Tabora, Tanga, Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Pwani, Lindi, Mtwara, along with the islands of Unguja and Pemba.
On Saturday, March 29, the heavy rainfall is projected to continue across Mara, Kagera, Geita, Simiyu, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma, and Tabora, further stressing the need for residents to prepare accordingly.
The TMA has effectively warned the public about a significant weather disturbance that is expected to last for three days, highlighting the regions that are likely to be affected. Residents are advised to take precautions against potential flooding, given the widespread nature of the anticipated rainfall.
