A minibus driver named Adrian Dailey and several passengers were arrested after police found a Glock 9mm pistol in the vehicle. The firearm was located in a bag behind the driver’s seat; none of the occupants claimed ownership of the bag. All individuals have been detained for further investigation.

On Sunday, a minibus driver and several passengers were apprehended after a Glock 9mm pistol was discovered within the vehicle. Police authorities revealed that the driver, Adrian Dailey, and the passengers were located at Shanta Creek on the Soesdyke Linden Highway when officers, acting on received intelligence, conducted a search of the minibus.

The firearm was located behind the driver’s seat inside a bag, although Dailey denied ownership of the bag. The passengers included individuals from various professions such as Pettol October, a security guard; Sharmain Yearwood, a supervisor; and several housewives, among others. Two minors aged 17 were also questioned as part of the investigation.

Upon being asked to identify their bags, none of the passengers claimed the bag containing the firearm, all denying any knowledge of the weapon. Consequently, they were informed of their alleged offense, arrested, and transported to the Timehri Police Station. Adrian Dailey and the passengers now remain in custody as investigations continue.

This incident highlights the serious nature of possessing unlicensed firearms and the responsibilities individuals have while using public transportation. The involvement of multiple passengers in the inquiry underscores the importance of accountability in shared spaces.
