In a disturbing development in the Saurabh Rajpur murder case from Meerut, authorities have uncovered that Muskaan Rastogi, Saurabh’s wife and the primary suspect, purchased two knives just eight days before the crime, spending Rs 800. The investigation has revealed that she rehearsed stabbing multiple times and acquired a cut-throat razor, which was ultimately used to sever her husband’s head from his body.
Muskaan, along with her lover Sahil Shukla, has been apprehended for the alleged murder of Saurabh Rajpur, occurring in their residence on March 3. The gruesome aftermath involved dismembering Saurabh’s body into 15 pieces, which were then concealed in a plastic drum and buried under cement. The authorities recovered the remains two weeks later after Muskaan disclosed the crime to her parents, who subsequently alerted law enforcement. Saurabh’s family had filed a missing persons report after being unable to contact him.
The chilling investigation has unveiled themes of drug addiction, betrayal, and moral depravity. Both Muskaan and Sahil were reportedly involved in substance abuse, with concerns that Saurabh would disrupt their activities. Aware of their affair, Saurabh had contemplated divorce but reconsidered for the sake of their six-year-old daughter. He was visiting Meerut from London for his daughter’s birthday when the tragedy occurred.
Sources from the police indicated that Saurabh’s visa for London was nearing expiration, and he intended to renew it during this visit. He also aspired to relocate his wife and daughter to London, a proposal Muskaan rejected, preferring to remain in Meerut with Sahil. Consequently, Saurabh’s plan evolved into taking their daughter overseas, for which he had applied for her passport.
On the night of the murder, Muskaan allegedly drugged Saurabh with sleeping pills. After he fell asleep, she stabbed him three times before using the cut-throat razor to slit his throat. Sahil was reportedly responsible for decapitating Saurabh. Following this, the pair dissected the body into 15 pieces, sealing the remains in a cement-filled drum.
Initially, they intended to cover Saurabh’s remains with mud and plant a sapling in the drum but later opted for cement, considering the potential odor. However, they misjudged the drum’s weight, which thwarted their disposal efforts, ultimately leading to Muskaan’s panic and confession to her parents.
