According to investigation details, Muskan drugged Saurabh’s food, rendering him unconscious. Subsequently, she and Sahil stabbed him to death and dismembered his body to conceal their crime. This followed a previous failed attempt on February 25, coinciding with Muskan’s birthday, to murder him, as Saurabh remained conscious on that occasion.

The original strategy involved disposing of Saurabh’s remains in a secluded area; however, they ultimately placed his dismembered body in a large blue drum, encasing it in cement. Despite the chilling nature of the crime, both Muskan and Sahil presented themselves as enjoying a vacation in popular tourist locations like Manali and Shimla while Saurabh’s remains were concealed at home.

Muskan’s parents expressed their shock and disbelief, labeling their daughter as unfit for society. Her father, Pramod Rastogi, condemned her actions vehemently and called for the death penalty for both Muskan and Sahil, stating, “Saurabh left everything for Muskan, including his job and family. But she ended up taking his life. Muskan has lost the right to live.”

Both Muskan and Sahil were apprehended and subsequently presented to the media. They are currently held in 14-day judicial custody, during which unrest broke out at the courthouse, initiated by a group of lawyers attempting to confront the accused. Authorities are also investigating the potential influence of drugs on the situation, as Sahil allegedly introduced Muskan to narcotics, specifically marijuana.
