Arrest Made in Connection with Ahmed Suale’s Murder in Ghana

Daniel Owusu Koranteng has been arrested by Ghana Police in connection with the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale. The suspect, who previously worked with Suale, allegedly shared photos of him with a prominent politician. Following an investigation assisted by the FBI, crucial evidence has been collected, including communications between the suspect and the deceased.

The Ghana Police Service has apprehended an individual in relation to the murder of Ahmed Suale, an investigative journalist. The arrested suspect, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, is known to have been a friend of Suale and purportedly shared photographs of the deceased with a prominent Ghanaian politician prior to the murder, as reported by myjoyonline.com.

Suale and Koranteng were associates at Tiger Eye Private Investigations. The suspect, also referred to as Akwasi Amakye, fled the country after police received leads regarding his involvement. He reportedly relocated to the United Kingdom during police investigations but later returned to Ghana, where he was apprehended at a salon in Amasaman-Adease.

According to reports, the FBI has assisted in the inquiry by retrieving data that includes communications between Koranteng and Suale days before the journalist’s death. In addition, the late Ahmed Suale’s mobile phone has been sent to the United States as part of the ongoing investigative efforts.

Ahmed Suale was murdered in 2019 by unidentified attackers in Madina, Accra, shortly after completing an investigative report with the BBC.
