Severe Weather Forecasted for Several Moroccan Provinces Next Week

Wind speeds are expected to reach between 75 to 85 kilometers per hour, accompanied by dust storms in regions including Youssoufia, Chichaoua, and Essaouira.

The provinces of Marrakech, Berrechid, El Jadida, Rhamna, Safi, and Sidi Bennour will also experience adverse weather conditions starting at 9 a.m. on Monday. Additionally, snowfall is expected in areas above 1,900 meters, particularly in Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Azilal, and Beni Mellal, projected to accumulate between 5 to 20 centimeters, including Ifrane and Midelt from 6 p.m. Monday until Tuesday noon.

Recent rainfall across Morocco has rejuvenated numerous water sources, including dams and waterfalls, after seven years of drought. As of Saturday, dam reservoirs are at 33.82% capacity, containing 5.7 billion cubic meters of water, compared to 4.8 billion cubic meters prior to the rainfall.
