Greg Chillak, a 35-year-old from Islip Terrace, has found love in Uganda, featured on the TLC reality series “90 Day Fiancé,” which chronicles the journey of Americans bringing their international partners to the United States via K-1 visas. In the second episode that aired on February 23, Chillak introduced his fiancée, 27-year-old Joan Kruchov, who relocated to New York after he proposed to her on her birthday in December 2023.

Their relationship unfolds amidst humorous scenarios, including the dynamic with Chillak’s divorced mother, Lucille, who continues to manage her son’s household tasks. Kruchov, professionally known by her birth name Nansambu, exhibits remarkable patience and kindness, which Chillak admires deeply. “One of the things that just made me fall in love with her is how she treats other people,” Chillak expressed, emphasizing her courteous and selfless nature.

Chillak’s connection with Kruchov originated in 2019 when he met Amos Wekesa, the founder of Great Lakes Safaris, on a flight. Wekesa encouraged him to visit Uganda, leading to Chillak’s eventual meeting with Kruchov, who co-directs the Nakajo Hope for Girls Foundation aiming to empower women and girls in Uganda. Upon their first meeting, Chillak was drawn to Kruchov as he searched for direction in his life.

After a year and a half of limited communication, Kruchov reached out via Facebook following a mutual friend’s passing, reigniting their relationship through daily conversations and shared values, including their Roman Catholic faith. As they envision a future together, Chillak expresses interest in moving out of his mother’s home and renting with Kruchov, although he is hesitant about spending money on someone else’s mortgage.

Chillak’s dream includes opening a New York-style pizza shop in Uganda, sharing his belief in the superiority of New York pizza. Regardless of the challenges they face, both individuals remain committed to building their life together.

In summary, Greg Chillak’s romantic adventure in Uganda through “90 Day Fiancé” signifies not only a journey of love but also profound connections across cultures. His relationship with Joan Kruchov illustrates heartfelt patience and mutual support as they navigate the complexities of relocation and cultural adjustments. Their future aspirations, including the prospect of a New York-style pizza business, highlight their ambitions as they strive to create a new life together in the United States.
