During this incident, he tragically shot and killed a resident identified as Sani in the Angwan-Kaje area of Chanchaga Local Government. Eyewitnesses noted that the officer also aimed at another resident, a tea seller named Mai Shayi, who fortunately managed to escape.

A witness recounted, “The officer shot Sani while he was sleeping. He also attempted to shoot Mai Shayi, but he ran away. Bullet shells were found at the scene.” The Niger State Police Command spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed these details and emphasized that a comprehensive investigation has been ordered by the Commissioner of Police, ensuring that accountability will be pursued.
