Three foreign tourists were arrested in Patong for assaulting a Russian man who intervened to stop their alleged attempt to rape two Finnish women. The suspects claimed to be misunderstanding the situation, stating they were merely trying to assist the women. The men are now facing legal proceedings at Patong Police Station.

In Patong, Phuket province, the police apprehended three foreign tourists for allegedly assaulting a 44-year-old Russian man. The incident occurred in a hotel, where the injured tourist, identified as Aleksandr Belinskii, sustained facial injuries while attempting to intervene in a potential sexual assault against two Finnish women.

The Finnish women reported that three foreign men invaded their hotel room in the early hours of Saturday, attempting to commit rape. Belinskii, who was passing by, observed the assault and intervened, leading to an altercation with the attackers before they fled.

Upon investigation, local authorities discovered that the suspects were staying at a nearby hotel. They were identified as German nationals Aksu Cemre Can, aged 30, and Aksu Ali Cem, aged 22, along with Turkish national Yanyana Salman, aged 23.

In their statements, the suspects claimed that their intention was merely to escort the Finnish women back to their hotel after socializing at an entertainment venue. They alleged that Belinskii confronted them, claiming to be the boyfriend of one woman, which led to the physical confrontation.

The suspects have since been taken to Patong Police Station to proceed with the legal process regarding the incident.
