He anticipates that heavy rainfall will impact the northern and central regions, particularly on Thursday, along with thunderstorms and snowfall.
Looking ahead, a temporary weather improvement is expected on Friday before a significant low-pressure system is forecasted to arrive over the weekend. This new system is set to deliver heavy rain across most of Morocco on Saturday and Sunday, with strong winds affecting the northern and central coastlines.
The central regions have already begun to receive substantial rainfall, which is expected to intensify over the weekend, particularly in the Marrakech and Souss areas. In contrast, the months of December and January saw little to no such disturbances, as the Azores High blocked many low-pressure systems.
In comparison, other regions, including Portugal and western Europe, enjoyed ample rainfall during that time, underscoring Morocco’s previous climatic challenges.
