Man Arrested for Attempting to Smuggle Cocaine Concealed in Wig

A man was arrested at Colombia’s Rafael Nunez International Airport for attempting to smuggle cocaine hidden in a wig. He was apprehended before a flight to Amsterdam, with authorities discovering 19 capsules of cocaine worth over S$14,000. In a recent incident at Rafael Nunez International Airport in Colombia, a 40-year-old man was apprehended for attempting to smuggle cocaine valued at over S$14,000 concealed within a wig. Colombian National Police disclosed on February 24 that they stopped this individual before he boarded a flight to Amsterdam, after a full-body scan revealed his unusual headwear.

Upon further investigation, authorities found 19 capsules containing a white powdery substance within the wig. Subsequent testing confirmed that the substance was indeed cocaine, equating to more than 400 doses worth over EUR 10,000. This troubling discovery led to the man’s detention by the Attorney General’s Office on charges related to drug trafficking.

It is worth noting that this individual has a history of drug trafficking offenses, with two previous court records. Colombia remains a significant producer of cocaine, catering to markets across North America and Europe.
